After completing his studies and legal clerkship, Tobias Haar specialized in postgraduate courses in legal informatics and antitrust law. He also successfully completed an international executive MBA. Having worked for several years at the major international law firm Clifford Chance and subsequently as an in-house lawyer in international companies, he is familiar with the special needs of his in-house clients. Numerous stays abroad, including in the USA, Sweden, Hong Kong and Israel, and many years of experience in drafting, negotiating and litigating international cooperation agreements form the basis of his intercultural consulting expertise.
One focus of his is on advising tech startups, for example in the fields of computer games, real estate, travel and blockchain technologies. This includes the development of contractual models for novel monetization and cooperation models, the identification of regulatory requirements and cooperation with interest and lobby groups to accompany legislative processes.
Tobias Haar is a freelancer at Heise-Verlag and regularly publishes on IT law topics in iX – Magazin für professionelle Informationstechnik. He is active as a lecturer at the Popakademie Mannheim and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, among others. For a long time, he was involved in the enforcement of copyrights as a board spokesman at BIU – Bundesverband Interaktive Unterhaltungssoftware e.V. (now: game – Verband der deutschen Games-Branche e.V.), organizer of gamescom, among other things, and as chairman of the board of GVU.
